Exploring the west
one road trip at a time!
My “backyard” is America’s epicenter of adventure, scenic wonders, and wild open spaces. Iconic attractions dot the landscape with names like Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Moab, Jackson Hole, Park City, Durango, and Lake Powell, just to name a few. As much as I enjoy exploring these timeless treasures, my preference is to get off the pavement to see the wild and scenic back country of this region by foot, bike, horse, Jeep or ATV. These are the places I visit often on personal road trips and take travelers to from all over the world as a tour guide.
I started this blog to share information about the places I visit including the hidden treasures I discover along the routes. I’ll give a few suggestions of things to do, sights to see, where to stay, and where to eat, including ideas for side trips and points of interest. If you’ve been on one of my tours you know that I throw in more than what’s been promised in the itinerary. Much of these added bonuses come from the discoveries I find on the many road trips I take.
My wife is my travel companion, rarely will you see me without her at my side. She’ll give her insights as well on the places we visit. We’re just getting started so check back often as information is frequently added. Happy trails!
